The Ant and the Grasshopper
The fable concerns a grasshopper that has spent the warm months singing while the ant (or ants in some versions) worked to store up food for winter. When that season arrives, the grasshopper finds itself dying of hunger and begs the ant for food. To its reply when asked that it had sung all summer, it is rebuked for its idleness and advised to dance during the winter.

Radio Calistoga Website Regarding Preparedness

Years ago while attending Santa Rosa Junior College, I took a class called cultural anthropology. The instructor, Alvin Hunter, would open his class by saying "I'm going to introduce you to some things that will prove my point, that the whole world is not like Sebastopol"!

My point is, as you will see, by looking at some of these websites, that the rest of the world (at least at this time, we experience relative calm) is not like Calistoga.

If you take the time, to see what's happening in the rest of the world, you will understand that we have been extremely lucky as far as emergencies are concerned. As the saying goes "it's not if it will happen, but,
when"!

Recommended resources will be added soon.

Books of Science Our planet is dying and this is no mere rendezvous with a date on a Mayan calendar in 2012. It’s the mass termination of life on planet Earth. Nature is under a scientific directive. It is irreversible. It is the extinction protocol. In 2010, the planet was ravaged by the worst flooding seen
in 1000 years, Pakistan, Colombia, and Australia. Profound earth-changes have already devastated the planet and even more catastrophic change is yet to come. We are entering a period of extreme volcanism. Chaitén (Chile) erupted after being dormant for 9500 years, Eyjafjallajökull (Iceland) erupted after 187 years, and Sinabung volcano (Indonesia) erupted after 400 years. Planetary tremors have begun shaking the globe. They will intensify. Earth’s magnetic field is faltering and moving towards a polarity reversal as we approach the solar maximum (2012-2013). The energy unleashed in earthquakes is rising and the planet’s climate is becoming increasingly inhospitable and will be soon pushed to the brink of collapse. Tornado cluster outbreaks are increasing in intensity and ferocity. Our marine environments are dying as more and more dead aquatic animals wash ashore. Our food production is in growing peril. Civilization is poised on the precipice of the most stupendous crisis in Earth’s history and we are running out of time to save what remains left of the human race.  -The Extinction Protocol

If you don't think you're being kept in the dark, read this. We don't know specifically what is afoot, but something is definitely wrong and officials are likely privy to it. We have noticed since November a definite uptick in emergency preparedness warnings, PSAs - Public Service Announcements - on TV and radio aired at odds times of the night. They advise every family should have an emergency plan in place and generally point people to Ready.gov, or individual state programs..Important FREE prep info

Sun Unleashes 'Monster
Eruption'

The sun unleashed a monster eruption of super-hot plasma Friday
Nov. 16, 2012!) in back-to-back solar storms captured on camera by a NASA spacecraft.
The giant sun eruption, called a solar prominence, occurred at 1 a.m. EST (0600 GMT), with another event flaring up four hours later. The prominences was so large, it expanded beyond the camera view of NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), which captured high-definition
video of the solar eruption.
